Junior Data & Reporting Engineer

Your new role:
This role is designed for a professional who is equally passionate about the technical aspects of data engineering as they are about the strategic implementation of data management practices.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between data analytics/reporting and data governance, ensuring our data infrastructure is not only robust and scalable but also aligned with our business objectives and compliance standards.
What you'll be working on:
Data Engineering tasks:
- Develop scalable and reliable data pipelines to ingest, integrate, process, and distribute data across multiple platforms and systems in collaboration with the Engineering team;
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to provide them with the necessary data tools and infrastructure for analytics and model development;
- Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure smooth and uninterrupted data flow.
Data Management tasks:
- Establish and enforce guidelines for data management, including data processing, quality control, metadata management, and data security protocols;
- Develop policies and procedures for data handling and sharing, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
- Coordinate with different departments to assess data needs, usage, and implementation of best data management practices;
- Provide first-level support for data-related issues, escalating more complex problems when necessary.
You are our ideal candidate if you have:
Ideally 1-2 years of experience in data engineering (recent graduates also welcome);
Understanding of data warehousing principles;
Experience with SQL, Python, and other programming languages relevant to data engineering;
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud data services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform);
Knowledge of data management standards, data governance practices, and data quality assurance;
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
Fluency in English;
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
